Being Initiate is part of the growing-up process as a B*.
Every member is a Initaite once, going through all stages
and Ceremonies. Once he or she is a full member, every full member is
allowed to join other characters at stage "Initiate" for 3 weeks and may
then add the char as a full member onto the stone.
The first Candidate and Initiate Phase has NO time limit, it depends on
the drive and energy you put into being a B*.
All B* NEED to have ICQ for the Clan to have a good and easy way to
reach one another. IRC is also a good way to stay in touch, but not as
needed. It is handy for bigger guild outhings however. Both programs can be downloaded on the Clan's download page.
Privileges for Full members:
When you join B*, you will not only get a rank yourself, but you will see many that are "green" to you with many differnt ranks. There are a few that do have special functions, but there are also a few that have a very loose discriptions of thier "life" or "job".
The "standard" classifications of the clan are:
|
|
Those are the names (and the ONLY ones) you may choose from when you are promoted to "full member". These names should mirror what kind of person you are dealing with and are oriented on the jobs you can learn in UO. You may choose any of the above. If you are an archer, and you heart is with magery, then ask to be a "Clan Mage". It's not a must to have the rank according to your highest or shown skill or profession.
If a Full Member is persistently inactive, he/she will be downgraded to Associate Member and lose their Full Member privileges.
These are members who have come through their Candidate stage but are be less active, whether through choice, or because of real life constraints. They are however expected them to attend a minimum of one meeting every 6 weeks, hunt at least once a month with clan members, and post on the boards every 2 weeks (at the very least to let us know they are around).
Associate members are not be afforded the privileges of Full Members. Armour and weapons etc will be supplied by clan smiths/tailors if wanted, however a charge will be made of either gold for clan funds, or the ingots/leather needed to make the required items.
Should the activness of an Associate drop even below these small required levels, the officers may decide to remove the member from the stone, either for a short period, or for "good" (-bad in this case).

The Khan or Khanness are the head of our family. They are those who carry the
burdon of decision. B* is not a democrathy. We have no council
or leading body that's elected or chosen. Those in command make the choices
for the whole clan. Be that the colors of our clan or the choice of a new meetingday.
Eventually each member useually is asked, but often when a discussion takes too long, the Khan takes the choice into the smaller circle of the officers to find an end to it and make a final decision on matters.
The Khaness has the following main duties:
The SaKhan is the right hand of our Khan(ness). Like a first officer on a ship, he/she is in direct command right after the Khan. Besides that, the SaKhan has it's own duties. Those also include looking after the clans members and young entering the Clan.
The current SaKhans duties include:
The Sage is the "Spiritual" leader of the Clan. While he has his studies, his respnsibilities include collecting and distributing information to all clan members. The Sage is a mage, which also makes him the number one choice for all who seek guidance in those arts. The Sage oversees:
These are the "seek and rescue" men and women. They are the more
tougher, quicker and more skilled warriors and mages. They are on a voluntary
basis a group which is a bit more danger orientated. They also are the Clans
weapons trainers, so if you are a young warrior who seeks leadership: Come to
them. They are who raise new members into the higher ranks of the Clan and who
train with Compassion and Honor.
Also in combat situations, it can happen that the Cavalry outranks the other clan mambers. An excample is Retreat. Should this command be given it triggers that the Cavalry stays to oversee the retreat. They are the last to recall or use a gate out.
The ridden unit can be identifyed as such because they dorn special colours:
Tan/Bronze.
The General leads not only the Calvary and the BloodAngels, he also is the
number one trainer for all fighters in B*, a shared job with his brothers and sisters.
If you choose the way of a warrior, the General is there to guide
you on your way.
The Calvary is the "first line" in any regular crawl or hunt. They ride in first
to see how things look and are those risking thier lives to safe the others.
Sworn to the Khan, thier duty is to protect all others. The Calvary also protects
the carftsmen while they go along with thier buisness (Miners, Lumberjacks...).
The Generals duties are:
The Advisor is the stand-in for the Sage as well as the one helping him/her with the Sage's duties.
The Advisor is also mainly responsible for mages, bards and crafters.
Since the clan is rather small atm, we have not yet called for an Advisor.
The Lieutenant is, not unlike the General, a leader for the warriors and hunters.
The Lieutenant replace the General if fallen or if not available.
Since the clan is rather small atm, we have not yet called for a Lieutenant.

The Clan's Keepers are a special group of men and women. They are former B* members. (We used to call them "Elders" in this Clan.) And by former I don't mean THEY left, but rather that the CLAN left. In times, B* had a few chapters. The first when B* was founded on Atlantic. There it shaped and changed and after some changes in the Clans make-up, some of the Family left for a new world or where reborn there. That new world was Drachenfels, our home now.
Here, too, a lot happened - things shaped and changed and thier present unfolded into what we now see as our history. Like it is with history: Every one who experienced it remembers it differently. I, myself, spend many hours and nights with the Clans Elders and listened to thier storys, listened to thier way of how things where. And each one has things the other saw differently. Now, a new Clan was born. Born by the wish and idea of River Blackstar and a young woman, who was a stranger to that system, Rayar Darktwin. With him as Khan and her as SaKhan, the structures where changed and modified to thier likeing. That way a new Clan was forged, based on the old traditions with the new impulses they brought in after thier own lead lifes on Drachenfels. Today some of the older Members have returned into our Family. They accepted the new way and now enrich our daily lifes as a calm reminder of the old ways. And to honor thier long path.. they are called "Clan Elder".
By law of Khan Sir Bedevere, all former Khans' may lay claim to the title of "Elder" as well.
